These pictures illustrate the sharp contrasts between the old and new, the bright and the dark china, as well as my helplessness towards this utterly foreign world.
“You have barely arrived, still a little groggy and suddenly you get clobbered with Hong Kong’s skyscapers. Gently you sink into the chilly, endless and commercialised dark waters of a supernational metropolis. Approaching a person with photographs is always a tricky thing to do, especially if you want to catch the spirit of a person.
I like this photo story because it’s real, it’s her, it’s just the way she is. Warm colours, artist’s hands, a little bit of an insecure foothold and an amiable smile in a beautiful setting.

Die 5 Bildmotive sind in einer geraden Reihe angeordnet. Die Reihe wird eingeleitet mit einem weissen Blatt auf dem klein das Wort „LADY“ geschrieben steht und abgeschlossen wiederum mit einem weissen Blatt auf dem sich das Wort „LUCK“ befindet.
Die beiden Worte geben Hinweise zur Arbeit, sollen aber auch dazu verleiten näher an die Serie heranzutretten um Details auf den Fotos zu untersuchen.

Die Grundidee für dieses Bild entstand während meiner ersten Gruppenausstellung in der Diskussion über das Bild „Zwangsindividualmultioptionspluralismus“. Ich wurde oft gefragt, was mich bewege, was ich in meinem Kopf sehe usw. Der anonyme Egozentriker in meinem Kopf war geboren.
